Frequently Asked Questions

That is simple: start flying with us! Come before our regular training-time to our Teamspeak-server, we will welcome you. But first of all, create your personal account on this web-page (if you did not do it yet). It will grant you access to other content of this web-page, which is reserved for registered users.

First of all, start flying with us. Attend our regular trainings, take part in our missions, and we will watch you. After some time (which is not exactly specified) you might get official invitation to become a SVK-squadron member. You do not need to be worry, it is not necessary to achieve a certain skill, we have newbies, as well as veterans in our squad. More important is how you fit in our group. Moreover, it has probably never happened that someone was not permitted to enter our squadron despite of showing strong interest.

We have regular trainings every Wednesday and Sunday, from 20:00 till ~22:00 CET (that is 19:00 - 21:00 GMT). We usually meet 15 minutes before the beginning on our Teamspeak3-server (domain-name address talk.svk-squadron.com, standard port 9987, anonymous login). You can get to default channel without any password. We will notice you and move to our training-channel.

  1. Reasonably powerful computer
  2. "Lock On: Flaming Cliffs" (+ the lastest patch) installed
  3. Teamspeak client software installed
  4. Internet connection (at least 256kbps up/down)
  5. Earphones (or speakers) and microphone
  6. A good joystick is highly recommended
  7. Knowledge of at least one of these languages: English, Slovak, Czech
  8. Good temper, sense of humor, and respect to others

This server uses "Coordinated Universal Time" (UTC) as its native time-zone, which is roughly the same as "Greenwich Mean Time" (GMT). It is also default web-page time for anonymous users. Once you create your personal login, go to "My_account", scroll down to "Locale_settings" and under "Default_time_zone" select your current local time, e.g. "Europe/Prague". When you later log in, you will see correct times for all events in calendar, recalculated to your time-zone. And when you create some event in your local time, all logged-in users will have them recalculated to their local times. Just remember: until you log-in, all times are always in UTC/GMT.

There are two possible reasons for this:

  1. Article has been created in certain language, and not translated into other - then article is displayed only on that particular language setting, and missing on others when you switch language to different one. Solution: ask author to translate it in other languages, or if he does not want to translate it, then he should at least switch language-settings of that article to "language neutral"!
  2. Article has been created with "language neutral" setting (no matter what language has been actually used). Then it is not possible to translate it, and the same version is always displayed, no matter how you switch language. Solution: ask author to switch settings from "language neutral" to actual language used in article, and translate it.

In any case, learning foreign languages might help you too! :-)

Probably you are accessing our (or any) Teamspeak3-server from different computers or systems. There is no more "login" and "password" used for authentication, as it used to be on Teamspeak2. Instead of that, Teamspeak3 uses "unique identifier". This is generated by Teamspeak-client to each user automatically. Quite naturally, Unique-ID's generated on different systems/computers are not the same. But you can transfer your Unique-ID:

  1. In Teamspeak3-client click on Settings > Identities
  2. Select identity you want to export (usually Default)
  3. Click Export on the upper right corner
  4. Choose a filename where you save your Unique-ID
  5. Start your different computer/system
  6. Go to Settings > Identities
  7. Select identity for which you want to import Unique-ID
  8. Choose Import
  9. Point to the ini-file where you exported your unique-id

This will allow you to receive the same permissions settings assigned to you by the server, regardless of which PC/system you are using.
